Father’s Day…

In about 1 hour it will officially be Father’s Day, I am trying to think what I will say to my father. I don’t know what to get him since he already has everything and he just celebrated his birthday this month as well, so hmmm don’t know.
It will be my last Father’s Day with my dad, that is, until he returns. He will be leaving in November for Afghanistan as the team leader. I feel scared for him and pray that he will return safely back here to Guam. I can’t begin to say how much he means to me and how much I have appreciated his help thorughout my life. He will miss a lot of events when he leaves, the most important is my graduation. He has always been the force behind my drive to succeed and finish school. Yes, it has taken me longer than most people, but in between raising a family and work I am proud of myself to finally finish and to have not given up.
So what are the words I will say tomorrow, besides “I love you, dad.”? Maybe, that is enough.
